Upcycling old laptop

Hi everyone. I'm Alex and first what I want to say is sorry for my English, I think you can understand what I want. I have Dell Latitude CpX with dead motherboard. It's very old it has 512 Mb of RAM, 12GB HDD and battery that won't charge the last time I used it. I'm not using it for long time I think 6 years, that's after the motherboard died. It was my first laptop and the first computer in my house, so I want to make something of it. Every idea is welcomed. Thank you a lot.

If the motherboard is dead.

Then I'd find a way to dispose of it without cost. Here it can cost to dispose of.

Making something of it.

I want to make something that will be useful. Reusing parts from it, hdd, battery, monitor.

Then do that.

Beware that so few have been able to re-use the display that well, you would be joining a very elite club if you did it.

My advice is to ebay off the parts.
