Unwanted Web Link

Jul 17, 2007 11:27PM PDT

Not sure where it came from but I now have a link on my task bar to a site called Virus Protect Pro. The link itself is not bothersome, it's the constant flashing messages telling me my computer is infected.

The site is attempting to get me to purchase anti spyware software.
There doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of this link. I have tried going into the start-up menu and apparently all I can do is hide icons on the task bar. even that doesn't work, it keeps coming back.

I do have a good security software including firewall etc.
I'm running MS XP. Any ideas?

Have a look: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070630184511AAMO0yb In addition, the first step is always going to: start/control panel/ add & remove programs/ and try and uninstall the program from there if its listed otherwise proceed if the different suggestions on using other "anti" programs to get rid of it.
Good luck,
Eddie
