In Microsoft Word I have a tool bar button from an old version of a PDF printer which just won't go away and I have two items in my 'file' menu from an old character recognition software that just won't go away either.
I installed and used for a long time, some PDF printing software which installed a tool bar button in Microsoft word. Recently I uninstalled this software and installed the upgraded version which subsequently installed a new improved set of tool bar buttons.
My problem is that the button from the old version still sits there. I have tried right clicking on the tool bar and un-selecting the tool bar item but when I start Word back up...there it is again.
I have even tried right clicking on the tool bar and not only unselecting it but then going to customise and then actually deleting the tool bar item. Open MSWord again and it is back again.
I also thought I was being clever when I opened the 'normal.dot' template, repeated the above, saved the template and tried again. Nope...there it was again.
I also have a similar problem with two entries in the 'file' menu in MSWord. Many moons ago I installed TextBridge (character recognition software). This then installed an item in the file menu. I uninstalled this shortly after installing it but not only did the item in the file menu stay there...I now have two of the blighters.
Any advice on removing unwanted tool bars for ever and removing unwanted items in my file menu would be greatly appreciated.
