When you ran these things did you re-boot in between? I'd say run them again because you still have a hijack going on. Perhaps you did not delete everything they suggested. Once you go to that porn site you get it all back again if you don't have the filtering set. Also run this stuff without being connected. I'd check your other machine as well and make sure it isn't infected.

Manually download the security patches on the other machine and copy them over so you can install them without being connected.

I Will Get My Butt Chewed, But

If no one comes along with the correct answer, this process always work.

Format C: and reload everything.

Then go the MSN update page and download all Microsoft patches.

Then install Norton AntiVirus 2004 and Norton Firewall 2004. Instead of Norton, you may want to take a look at McAfee.

Hi,

Download and run HijackThis - get it here:

http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates: "startuplist.txt")

Next, go to the link below.

http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

and post your "hijackthis.log". There are the experts and they will tell you what to do.

Good Luck!

Reinstall Windows....Maybe
Apr 18, 2004 12:47AM PDT

PORN! First of all it is not worth littering your PC for this crap. These sites "take over" your PC as you have seen, rendering it crippled. So, stop doing the damage.
Next, check in the add/remove program list for any installed programs that COULD be the reason for the porn. Remove if necessary. After that, I'd run a good registry cleaner. If XP, regscrubXP works great.
Is your Adaware up to date? Make sure you look for updates.
After all that, It maybe necessary to reinstall Windows because I don't like the sound of the Windows Update issue.
Good Luck...and...NO PORN

First, you need to scan your hard drive for spyware and adware.
Adware serves up ads to you when you are online. Spyware tracks your
surfing to identify your interests and reports the results to a
computer on the Internet. You are then served with ads that supposedly
reflect your interests.

There are two good programs that will wipe this stuff out. One is
Ad-aware; the other is Spybot Search and Destroy. Both are free.

Download Spybot and use it. Be sure to click the "Immunize" button,
too. There, you can block some of this stuff from getting onto
your system.

It's not a bad idea to run Ad-aware, too. Like with Spybot, download
it and run it on your system.

You'll find links to download both Ad-aware
and Spybot on my site at: http://www.komando.com/bestshareware.asp
