Unusual problem USB WIFI adapter

Jul 3, 2018 8:40PM PDT

Hi, I have a USB WIFI adapter which was working fine since a couple of weeks. I am currently in a place with frequent power cuts and I don't have my modem connected to a UPS now. The problem is this stupid USB WIFI adapter is not detecting the net connection sometimes after the power comes back and the modem restarts. This this just the problem with the adapter cause every other gadget of mine is detecting it. So I run between the desktop and modem, restart them simultaneously and it stays that way for sometime. I guess this is because of this USB WIFI adapter but is there a simple way to fix this fast? Thank you for reading, expecting your valuable solution.

Sounds like a driver issue.

Contact the maker for newer, fixed drivers or try another adapter. This is not an unusual problem. It's just something you see from time to time and if the maker doesn't fix it, we swap it for another make and model.

Wait For Modem To Fully Reboot
Jul 5, 2018 6:31PM PDT

After a power outage wait about a minute or so for the modem to fully reboot itself. We've had 3 different modems over the years and they all take about a minute or slightly longer to reboot. Usually you can see if all the lights on the modem are lit correctly (example: mine has 4 lights which glow steadily and 1 light that blinks). After the modem is fully rebooted, restart your computer. It should automatically reconnect.

Buying a new adapter.

Thanks a lot for the help. I did everything but no luck. The only thing worked, was to turn off the system and unplug the adapter for a while, restart the modem and then the system, wait until windows get loaded and plug in the usb adapter in and if I am lucky I'll get connected. I think I am going to buy a better wireless adapter or maybe a pci card with wireless. I appreciate you helping me and thank you once again. Happy
