unusual forum software

I was just wondering why CNET set up their own forum software. I feel Invision Power Board, Php BB or at least Bulletin Board would have been a better solution.

But the long and short of it is that Cnet is a corporate environment where your job is on the line and you need to CYA if the items fail. Also they wanted all this to look and meld with cnet.com and it's look.

Remember that office politics can't be dismissed here.

CYA = Cover your a$$

We used to also say: SYA = Save your a$$
or another three letter similiar is
MYA ...M = may or my
