Unsuccessful installation of McAfee Internet Security Suite

Sep 17, 2005 4:37AM PDT

In trying to install the software the setup disk only brings up a very tiny symbol on the screen - just the top right corner X and a tiny bit of red below. The full start up screen does not appear.

Was this during a 'autorun' process? If it is then access the CD through windows explorer and double-click on the setup.exe file. If it still won't work then return it for a new one. Need more specific info to go further.

and life goes on...

219. Unsuccessful installation of McAfee Internet Security

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I had just removed Norton's secutity program and tried various techniques to install McAfee including those you suggested. I'm returning the defective software and in the meantime downloading a 90 day trial of another program.

Unsuccessful installation of McAfee Internet Security Suite

Thanks to my unknown hero who solved the problem! However, I did not have the MIS.msi file for the last step in the procedure you suggested. However, I found that clicking MISWizard on the last step brought up the full screen I needed. However, since I installed another program for a 90 day trial on my laptop, I'll use it for awhile and will install McAfee later.
