Unstable or Something else???

May 5, 2009 12:45PM PDT

I need to find out what is going on with my 3 month old desktop. My system is a 64bit Vista with IE 8. I am using all Norton products and am current on all updates, patches, etc. The question is this: lately when I go to use my computer I am getting unexpected messages such as: Webroot is not compatible with Norton, my e-mail is not my current default email, my printer was not printing, went through and the checks and found it not to be on USB connection but on a DOT connection. I suspect that someone is remotely accessing my computer. From time to time it runs extremely slow - like something is using all of its power. I have an over abundance of RAM and gigabyte. Please tell me how to correct this problem. Thanks

Norton and Webroot

Norton and Webroot are likely conflicting with each other. Make sure you only have one anti-virus and one anti-spyware program running at a time. I would disable Webroot and let Norton do those tasks.
