Unstable Cursor

Installed XP-Pro and MS Office 2003 on a clean disk, no third party software. From the start w/o a break, the cursor will not stay put while writing. It jumps backward, up a few lines or a page, or disappears. At times, I am typing and nothing appears on the page. No-one has been able to correct the problem which causes great difficulty and mounting frustration.
I've been using PCs since the early '80s and DOS, and never had this problem. Microsoft has no answer.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
