Thanks for your reply, I was just under the impression that unsharing the c drive would stop you from accessing the network or internet, is this correct?
What is and isn't shared on your PC doesn't affect your accessing the internet. But, I'd suggest it unwise to share C: if it's where Windows resides. If you have another drive, share that one or just create shared folders where files can be made public on a network. Don't share the Windows folder. XP makes that rough anyway.
