Question

Unresponsive Script Error using online maps

Mar 31, 2015 3:26AM PDT

Hi All,

Windows newbie here having converted from OSX so please bear with me.

I'm experiencing problems with online maps, specifically when editing GPX files. The main site I am using is mapmyride.

Firefox chucks up a Scrip Error message, giving the the option to debug, ignore or sit tight. Occasionally I get a Plugin Error.

Chrome just takes an age process any tasks with no message at all.

I've got Adblock Edge and a couple of Mccafee extensions added to firefox which I've tried disabling and even deleting but this doesn't help.

Brand new machine, fresh OS install, plenty of RAM.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks a mill

Since it's just that site

What does the site owner have to offer?

Nice looking site but a little buggy here too.

Not quite

... seems, when I load my GPX file into any online editor, I get the same result, regardless of browser and, so I've just found out, regardless of computer!

Looks like it might be that my GPX file is too big?

Could be.

You could test it with a smaller file to see if that's it. However McAfee and web troubles are well discussed. In fact I found McAfee to continue to interfere when disabled a few years back. Not a product I'll use today.
