"Unreadable files" message when opening iPhoto

Mar 13, 2011 11:29AM PDT

MAC OS-X System purchased in Jan. 2009, iPhoto '08, version 7.1.5
Every time I open iPhoto this same message appears - "21 unreadable files found". I click "OK" - then a new file called "Recovered photos" is created in my iPhoto library. File is blank!
How can I get rid of these unreadable photos/files??
