unreadable cd copy

by magnifan / April 5, 2005 1:15 AM PDT

I have a disk at home... It is by a dj... it?s a promo disk... it has scratches on it that makes it not play on tracks 1 and 6 and 7... it?s a cdr and it?s a promo disk by a dj that no longer plays... called remembering yesterday, by funk junkie... a bunch of rock remixes from the 80?s... It will play in a home cd player and a car cd player but it will not read in a pc... it makes the drive inaccessible or device not available or something... sometimes when I put it in, autorun sees it as something that makes nero, roxio and a windows recordable folder come up in the pop up (what do you want to do ) box...

If I try and do a disk copy, it will not let me use that disk... it asks for an original source disk... and it sometimes shows that cd as blank media... I really need to get this disk copied... any ideas would be so great...

I try to duplicate it in another PC or drive. Some drives are better at this. Remember the secret of PLEDGE. Soft cloth, just the smallest amount to do the job.

is PLEDGE soft cloth like some sort of dust wipe from the grocery store? or is that a term or nickname for a method that I'm unfamiliar with? Thanks...

Have bookmarked G4 site with Pledge furniture polish info. You may have resurrected a DVD for me.
