This is the first reaction of a new user of Windows NT, 2000, XP and beyond.
Take time to understand that even LINUX has some dozen users in its system and maybe you'll call that bloatware too?
1. Slow down and learn the new system.
2. Do not attempt to make XP a "single user", "one login" system. By doing so, you weld the lid shut on repairs by logging in as some other user to fix a corrupt profile.
3. If all this is still bothersome, I suggest you try another OS.

Using Win XP home edition
In Documents & Settings I have...
All Users
Default Users
Local Service
Network Service
My name User
LOCAL SERVICE has ...
Application Data Folder
Cookies Folder
Local Settings Folder
NETWORK SERVICE has...
Application Data Folder
Cookies Folder
Local Settings Folder
The other 3 have quite a bit more, with similar folders.
XP has BAD habit of putting info in ALL the Doc & Setting folders, which has to be removed if I want to remove a program. I have had problems several times because I did not remove every thing like I thought I had, and messed up a reinstall.
I would like to eliminate EVERY Doc & Setting folder that I SAFELY CAN.
I am only user, no networked computer, just me and occasionally the internet.
IF there is a valid reason for leaving them, I will.
I just think this is more MS bloatware and want to pare it down as much as safely possible. I know I have to keep ?All Users? and ?MyName User?. What is purpose of ?Default User?
Thanks
Ben
