UNLOCKING BLUETOOTH

by SWAMPCAT / March 28, 2006 10:54 AM PST

If your cell provider blocks out some of the profiles for your phone...so it will only work with "their" devices, will unlocking the phone unlock those profiles? I am looking to get a new phone and found on the web about companies blocking B/T profiles. I want to use my phone to sync with headsets, pda's, GPs units etc.

I've got a Treo 650 from Alltel. I saw a email on a discussion page about Alltel locking out some of their profiles. That's what started me looking for more info, and I came across Verizon's name also.

My bluetooth don't work in my Alltel phone. The only thing I can do with bluetooth is send my contact list to another phone (haven't bought a headset yet so don't know if that works or not). When I heard about all the great things that you could do with this new bluetooth technology I decided to get a phone with it. MY BAD!! come to find out that Alltel locks or blocks their phones so that you have to spend another $70-$90 to buy this cord thingie to connect your phone to your computer and download your pictures from phone to computer then burn to disk then take to wal-mart and have your photos printed up. This sucks. I wish I would have done research about this before going with Alltel service now I'm stuck for 2 years with them! Unless anyone knows how to get the bluetooth to work anyway.

I have Motorola V3c with alltel. This Phone stays on Roam all the time even under their tower. I have taken it to their service center
and had it Flashed. I still have the same Problem. I think given the distance from their tower it has to be in the program of Phone.
If any one can help with this I truly would be thankfull.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
