General discussion

unlockable folders

Jun 24, 2005 12:24AM PDT

I have an old G3 imac with ram maxed out and running Panther.
I still use pagemill 3.0 which means that I am often working in 9.2.
While trying to work on my website, I downloaded some folders from my hosting provider and placed them on my desktop. Now they are locked and I cannot remove them even when logged in as the root user.
The get info box is checked in the locked mode and is ''greyed'' out.
I just want to trash them and start over. Any ideas?

Boot the machine into OS 9.x.x, NOT Classic, and you should be able to unlock the Files/Folders.
Trash them from OS 9.
Reboot into X and all should be well

Hope this works for you
