Question

UNKNOWN LOCK SCREEN

Apr 23, 2017 12:22PM PDT

So... I have GO Launcher, which has it's own lock screen during charging. I'm okay with that. I've disabled the default lock screen for my phone. I'm okay with that.

What I'm not okay with is that a new lock screen appears sometimes. It has no indication of where it's from and it has no settings.

The lock screen comes up during charging. It is black with no settings. Clock is in 24hr, weather in the top right corner, slide to unlock. Don't have to slide to unlock as home button also exits it. Can tap on the weather. That goes to http://m.amberweather.com/weather/forecast/city/20106167865

Can anyone help me disable this lock screen. I don't need it and I don't want it. It just popped up suddenly and won't permanently go away.

I see no lock screen issue. Could it be the notification?

Lock Screen
Apr 23, 2017 5:07PM PDT

The Lock Screen is the first picture. I don't know where it came from but I want it gone.
The second picture is of what I see when I tap on the weather in the top right corner.

Either way I want it gone. But what do you mean when by a vanilla lock screen?

The phone I use is a Samsung Galaxy S3.

The lock screen looks normal to me EXCEPT

The notification on it. Vanilla as in a lock screen I've seen so many times it's common. What is NOT common is the COIN MASTER notification.

I run across a lot of folk that can't differentiate a notification from the lock screen.

I see that's there. I play Coin Master. However, That lock screen is... was new. I factory reset my phone and it hasn't come back, but i'm still wondering about it. I noticed that notification on the lock screen, and can differentiate a notification from the lock screen. It's the lock screen I'm wondering about.

Android is fragmented.

You can research Android fragmentation so this is why the lock screen to me looks fine. I must have a dozen different Androids in the office and not 2 of the lockscreens look the same or like yours.

I wish there was tighter controls but Android is open to modification by maker, carrier and user.
