Universal remote for home threatre setup

Jul 8, 2005 9:36AM PDT

Please recommend a universal remote that will allow for use with a Time Warner HD set top box with replay, a HD Panasonic tv, and a Denon receiver. Now I have to indicate which device I want to access prior to using that device. The Panasonic will not let me access The T. W. program guide. When I had a Tivo remote I just pressed volume to adjust and did not first have to input the receiver. I long for Tivo.

A Universal Remote worth its money!

Hello,

When it comes to purchasing a Universal Remote, you really have three options.
1) a remote with all the codes pre-programmed into it
2) a remote that can be programmed using the internet or computer.
3) a learning remote. A learning remote can learn the commands off older remotes through a tedious process of assigning buttons from the old remote to the new remote while aiming noth IR eyes of the remotes at each other.

Here is a remote I would suggest that will not be outdated anytime soon and works with Time Warner cable boxes.

Logitech Harmony 676 Universal Remote Control

Hope this helps.

Thanks. After reading many reviews the Harmony 676 sounds perfect. I've got an order in.
