You may have not rewritten the boot sector? Try:
FDISK /MBR
And if you format with a DOS/Win98 diskette remember the command is:
FORMAT C:/S
Some forget the /S

I presently have Windows Xp Home on my pc.I am having problems with it and would like to wipe it completely out of my pc and go back to Windows 98SE.Xp was put fresh on my pc when I bought the pc so I have had no other windows on my pc but XP so I cannot revert back to anything.I have tried formatting several times but this does not take XP out completely I have found. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated... BTW my hard drive is from Maxtor.
Thanks in advance....Judy
