Casey, I keep WinPatrol on all my PCs. It is small download, I have never had problem with it, and I don't think I have ever tried to stop a running application that it failed to stop. Once, sorta for test, I shut down Symantec Norton with it. It does not remove stuff, just keeps it from running. The basic is free, 30 dollar will get you membership (lifetime) to access an online database to identify whatever you find in your computer. Sometimes if you can stop these running processes, then you can get them to uninstall.
You can get it from WinPatrol.com, or CNet's Download.com . I am sure it won't hurt your computer.
Lots of advice, threats and warnings, esp. about Registry cleaning. Trying to download the recommended ccCleaner (thru CNET), I got landed with CyberDefender. Now I cannot get rid of it! Even with technical help from AVG and the Cyber rogues themselves, it would not uninstall, nor would "Add/remove" programs remove it. Today, at last the newly featured UNINSTALLGOLD (on trial) "removed" it from the listed programs, but it still appears on my screen at Start Up (Windows XP, on a run-of-the-mil Packard Bell desktop. Anyone else got rid of this pain?
