Uninstalling/Reinstalling XP on Presario C300

by onebluephish / November 3, 2009 10:31 PM PST

Hello,

When inputing my XP Pro disc into the laptop when trying to reformat the hard drive to install XP it tells me there is no available hard drive to install XP.

Anyone have steps from start to finish?

Thanks, Onebluephish

u may first start with the hdd self test, u wud find that in the bios .... turn on the PC >> keep tapping on f10 as soon as u turn on ... in the bios select the diagnostics tab and u will have primary hard disk self test ... if the test passes then change the boot order in the bios from system configuration ... if u get the same mess no hdd then do a hdd reseat and then try the test again this time u wud get an error or message... if the test fails then sorry to tell ya that may be because of the bad hdd on ur laptop.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
