Uninstalling ExtraWebcam from Vista system - please help me!

I am desperately trying to get rid of the program as it did not work and now it will not uninstall.

I get a message saying it cannot be uninstalled because it is in use. I have closed everything, taken out all devices etc. Still nothing. I have gone through Programs in Control Panel. It will not uninstall.

I notice that a lot of the links for ExtraWebcam are reported spyware sites. I've scanned my computer thoroughly & nothing's come up.

I'm at my wit's end as it is now not letting me use any live capture software (eg Stop motion).

Please can someone help me?

What I would try

It looks like there is some process or service still running, and this is preventing the uninstall.

It seems to me you have two options;

1] Run Vista's System Configuration Editor, (Start > Search type in msconfig and press Enter), and in the Startup tab, find any entries for this web cam and remove the tick. Restart the system and then see if you can uninstall.

2] Restart the system into Safe Mode. In this mode only default drivers, processes and services are loaded, and then you can go to Vista's Control Panel > Programs & Features, and uninstall it from there.
