uninstalling AOL 8.0 after upgrading......

I am a novice so please bear with me! I upgraded to AOL 9.0 from 8.0 and I tried to uninstall 8.0 by using the add/delete programs.When I click on AOL I get a message saying AOL is searching for versions on my computer but nothing ever comes up! Is there a way to uninstall AOL 8?

How long have you waited?, depending on the speed of the computer the wait is sometimes quite lengthly, let it grind away for a few minutes.
