Question

unidentified icon on screen

Aug 13, 2018 11:07AM PDT

My husband has a Lenovo laptop running Windows 10. An Icon appearing to be a touchpad with a line diagonally through it will appear in the center lower portion of the screen. He can reboot the computer and it will disappear for a while but then reappears. There doesn't seem to be anything turned off relating to the touchpad. We can't figure out what triggers it to come on. If anyone has had this problem and has resolved it we would greatly appreciate any information

Did you try looking at Task Manager?

Yes. In the short list there is nothing running. Under "processes", I couldn't identify what it might be.

1. You can stop all processes one by one (don't stop Explorer, and don't stop the services, since they don't write on the screen) until it disappears. Then you know.
2. Why not make those speccies and compare?

I would not IDENTIFY what it could be.

However I would compare the list from when it's there to when it is not.

The Speccy reports could let me have two reports to compare as well. And I meant you do the comparison. You are not looking for anything other than what is different in the report under running processes.
