Question

Uniden Dect 6.0 battery

Apr 28, 2017 6:48PM PDT

The battery on my Uniden Dect 6.0 phone is dying. I need to get a new battery. The battery that I need is:
Model BT-1016
Nickel Metal Hydride Rechargable
DC 2.4v, 500mhAh
Ni-MH 2009E

My question is: does a separate charger exist for this? I looked on Ebay and Amazon but couldn't find anything, unless I was looking for the wrong thing (quite possible because I'm not tech-savvy on that level). Or should I just put it in the phone and let it charge there? I read somewhere that when I get a new battery, for the first time I have to let it charge 15 hours before I can use it.

Thanks for your help.

search via model number

found the battery at amazon. as far as a separate charger, never heard of one. you may have to let it charge for 15 hours or whatever, but you can still use the phone.

Yes, I've found the battery as well. I was more concerned about a separate charger.

But I guess if charging it in the phone itself is what I need to do, then that's what I need to do. That's what I've been doing with the current battery,

At the risk of insulting anyone's intelligence - and I apologize if that happens - I should mention that the Uniden Dect 6.0 is a cordless phone, not a cell phone or smart phone or anything like that, and the battery is in the handset. So the battery would be in the handset, which would be in the base which is how it charges. That's my understanding, anyway - I mentioned in my first post that I'm not tech-savvy on this level.

And my understanding about the "15 hours" is that once I put the new battery in, I have to let it charge for 15 hours straight - I shouldn't interrupt the initial charge to answer a call, or if I need to make a call. Is this correct?

I was already familar with the phone type

back to the 15 hour charge, I personally do not think it is a big deal if you need to interrupt the initial charge as long as you do not let it go completely dead or do it too soon after getting it. Personally I never had the patience to wait for that new device to get initial full charge. Never had any issues. this is one of those issues where there is always a debate with both sides having good points. If you want to wait the hours, Just place the news battery in the phone before going to bed, make sure call forwarding is set to another number, (cell phone) and enjoy your dreams.

I didn't overthink this one.

I got a new battery for a cordless on Amazon, replaced it and put it on the charger. I think I used it on a call in a few hours and it's been years later.

I'm sure folk fret about these things. I didn't.
