I want to post this message to tell as many people as possible never to purchase a Samsung Blu Ray player. My experience has been horrible. I just purchased a BDP1500 on 12/28/2008 - so it is less than 6 months old. In that time I had to exchange the product with the retailer 2 times. Whenever I tried to do an upgrade to the firmware from USB it never seemed to take and thus displayed "Load" on the menu screen when I powered it on. Finally I go that working and now a few days ago the player started freezing on me while watching Blu Ray movies. I tried re-loading the firmware again and guess what - the same issue as several months ago. So, I call Samsung and now they tell me it is out of labor warranty and want me to pay for service. This is insane and I can't beleive a company would operate like this. Not only is the product defective but so is their service and warranty process. Never buy Samsung again. Signed - very unhappy customer that will convert to Sony.
