is the Task Manager.
Right click the Taskbar and select the Task Manager. Display the Processes tab, and click the CPU column twice so that anything uses the CPU gets listed at the top.
Keep that open, (off to one side if necessary), and wait for the next sounds to play. See if the process causing it is displayed in the Task Manager.
Perhaps others here will have better ideas.
Recently I have been getting peculiar audio sounds at random. As these are not sounds that I have loaded on to my machine, I am guessing that some other program did that for me.
My question is.. Is there any program that I can run (like Event Viewer)that will display the event and the corresponding sound file (whether it's a wav or dll). Event Viewer doesn't give me this kind of detail and I am curious what is occurring when I hear these sounds.
I am running XP Service Pack 3 on a Compaq Presario vintage 2006.
Thank you to anybody that can help.
