by bkktppi / November 14, 2010 10:43 AM PST

I have Samsung DVD Blue Ray disc Player (BD-P 1600 XAC). From last two days I am not able to see the latest vedios on Youtube. but old vedios are working. Could you please guide me what can be the possible problem and how it can be resolved?

bkktppi,

Some videos (particularly video channels) may be limited in distribution, and may require the online website to view. This isn't a decision made by Samsung, but is likely part of the programming from the widget owners - YouTube.

Do searches for the titles come back with no options?

Not all videos are available in all regions.

HDTech.

No, this is not a case. All videos after nov 12, 2010 are not working. It means either the contract of Samsung with YouTube is over on that day. Or it may be temporary interruption. Even the videos which you upload now will not work from the disc player but that will work on computer so region is not a issue . Could you please justify that?

Same issue here
by peje2010 / November 18, 2010 1:11 AM PST

I have the exact same problem since a week or so ago (Nov 11 2010 in my case). Every single Youtube video posted after that date is not playing on my Samsung BD-P1600 (SW: BEv2.12_100825_BDP1600_XEF). All videos before that date plays fine. It makes no difference if I find videos for example through perusing "Most Viewed" or by searching.

It opens the video page correctly with all the details about the video and also seems to buffer the video looking at the blue bar. But when it comes to actually playing it, nothing happens. It just says "Connecting" and then some times it pops up with a message saying it couldn't be displayed. So maybe there is a codec issue of some sort.

I called Samsung support who advised updating the firmware. But I already have the newest version from August 25 2010. I have also tried resetting it to factory defaults to no avail. Samsung's other advice was to send it in for service. But that seems pointless as this clearly appears to be a general issue with this player - and purely software-related. They should be able to reproduce it easily.

bkktppi,

Well, I don't know what the case is. That's all I can deduct from here.

They own the App. They can control it, and if there are limitations, interruptions or videos aren't available on their App, I wouldn't be privy to it anyway.

That said, there are a few complaints about this, and several specify a specific date, so I'll be happy to pass this up to see if our development team can get with YouTube and check more into this.

I have the same issue. Did not realize that the issue is with the date of upload. I will also see if I can raise this issue to youtube through any of their support forums. Please keep us posted in case there are any resolutions for this.

jvasanth,

If I hear something back on this, I will be happy to post it in the forums.
