Just wanted to leave a message that I had trouble doing an autoupdate on a MAC a few days ago so I called Apple. They were very kind, but were also unable to get the computer to do an autoupdate (click on apple icon top left corner and click on update software). We kept getting a message that there were no updates available. They put me through several steps including removing certain files, rebooting into safe boot mode, etc. They finally told me that I would have to download the updates 10.6.1, 10.6.2, 10.6.3 and 10.6.4 each individually and install them one at a time.
When I tried installing the 10.6.1 update by itself, I received the message that the HD was not capable of being updated (can't remember the exact wording). I finally ran a check disk routine from the utilities menu and found that the hard drive was reporting that it needed to be repaired.
FYI - If you are having any problems doing OS updates I would advise that you first check your HD to make sure it is clean and that all file systems are intact and not in any need of repair.
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
