Question

Unable to send emails and delete

Jun 9, 2013 8:55PM PDT

I bought a new HP desk top in November. And it has windows 8. I have 2 pop email accounts and I can download my emails and read then. When I send then to the trash can, they stay there. I can't empty the trash can. Also I can't send any emails. I have been reading on this, but don't know what to do.

That's the Mail app from the start screen? Not some program from the desktop?

Then see if http://windows.microsoft.com/EN-US/windows-8/mail-app-faq helps. If not, http://www.quora.com/Windows-8/Windows-8-mail-app-how-does-one-empty-trash-or-junk-mail might help for emptying the trash.

Not being able to send usually means some account settings are wrong. Any normal email program gives an error code or error message. But maybe this new app just does nothing in such a case. Then carefully check the settings. Also try from a desktop mail program like Thunderbird (free).
