Resolved Question

Unable to reinstall Itunes no mobile device

I'm running Windows 7 64bit. I recently started getting a C++ library error on start-up which was down to a failed Itunes update (concluded as error went away after I disabled all Apple processes in the startup). I was unable to open Itunes so followed instructions to re-install.

Having uninstalled Itunes, I now get a "Service 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start" error when trying to re-install.

The problem is I no longer have an Apple device! I've tried "Ignore" but the error just returns and I have to abort the install. I tried manually starting the service via the Windows services utility but get an Error 1053 "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion".

Any advice would be gratefully received!

Thanks for that. Happy

I'll update the thread when I get a chance to try it out.

The 1st link sorted it. Basically, you have to uninstall ALL Apple applications (Ignoring the fact that "Apple Mobile Device Support" refuses to uninstall!) in a given sequence, you can then reinstall ITunes.

Many Thanks Happy

So the old Windows car story.

In reply to: Succeess!

Everyone gets out of the car, waits, then gets back in and it works.
