Unable to ping ESXI host

I have an out of state Esxi 4.1 host is that is working fine with 12 virtual servers on it. The problem is I cannot ping (ip or name) or connect to it using vSphere from my current location. The only machines which see the Esxi host are the VMs it is hosting. So to connect I have to remote desktop to one of the VMs and run vSphere from there. Any idea why I can't connect from other PCs on the network?

There are weather and possible site issues but this looks like a commercial offering so make them earn their keep.
