I googled the message ""windows is unable to partition the drive" that you give. That's a unique message. You're only one who ever mentioned it.
So please tell more (and better).
How many physical drives?
How many logical drives (drive letters) on those drives?
What kind of partitions (primary, extended or logical)? You'll find [url=http://www.pcguide.com/ref/hdd/file/structPartitions-c.html interesting.
What tools are you using to repartition?
Things that should become clear from your answer:
1. The current situation.
2. The final situation you want to reach.
3. The tools you use.
4. The proposed path from the current situation to the final situation.
And who cares about 9 MB on a 300 GB drive? That's .003% of the total space.

I was reinstalling vista and deleted and partitioned all the drives again, except one drive. It kept giving an error message saying windows is unable to partition the drive. Does anyone know why this happens and how to fix it..
Also there is another 9 mb partition of unallocated space. How do i fix this?
