unable to install updates

I have been having problems the last few days trying to install updates on my windows 7 computer. It is set for automatic updates but I have also tried to install them manually and it keeps failing showing error code 2 can anyone help please

Microsoft blows updates all the time. Let it fail for a few weeks or maybe longer BEFORE you waste time on this.

Again, no. I rarely look into this until a few weeks pass.

About failing to install updates

Did you try simply to restart computer? Or you should remove automatic updates. Usually after few attempts updates are inastalled properly.

Does this happen for ALL updates or for a specific one? That's easy to check, by downloading and installing them one by one.

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_update/windows-update-error-code-2-trying-to-install/ee945c20-a8c1-4b82-9b4c-d6dfae4c5337 gives an example of how to fix this error in a specific case (a .Net update error). It seems to be more common with updates of language packs.

Microsoft support for Windows updates is free. So why not call if you can't fix it yourself?
