Resolved Question

Unable to Install MSI Files

Jan 14, 2014 10:09AM PST

I have 2 programs that I cannot install on my new Win 8.1 PC but they install fine on Win 7. I also believe that I was able to install 1 of them when I had Win 8.0

When I install I get error message on one of them "Error 1723.There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

If it makes any difference the files I am trying to install are GCSMSetup_3_6_0.msi and msgames_win8_x64.msi

Thanks, the Link for other ideas did the trick

"The solution is to go into c:\users\"username"\AppData\Local\ then right click on "temp" and choose "properies". Choose "security" --> edit --> add, and add the username you are using, and give yourself all rights"
