I just received an HP laptop as a replacement for one that HP "lost" while undergoing warranty repairs. Old one was XP, new one is Vista. I have been using a Deskjet 460 wirelessly without problems on XP network, but cannot get it to work w/o a usb cable on Vista. I spent 4 hrs on the phone w/HP tech; he couldn't figure how, either. I've tried HP website instructions to no avail. Driver is included w/Vista os; have installed it. I've tried everything I can think of, i.e., IP address change, sending info thru usb cable, flash card. It keeps telling me that laptop can't communicate w/ printer. I've run configuration pages; all info matches. I've tried Bluetooth w/same result--won't pair up. I can use either, but prefer 802.11. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.
