Question

Unable to import images from my digital camera to my PC

Sep 28, 2013 10:01PM PDT

when I plug in in my digital camera it appears in "computer" but when i click on it, there are no folders. usually it says "fixed storage" and "Removable Storage" but they are not there.... this is really frustrating me ive tried updating drivers ive tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them but still not luck. i know its not a problem with the camera because when i plug it into my gf's laptop, its fine. so I know its a problem with my computer.

any ideas anyone?

My digital camera is a Kodak M580

It has very little options on the camera, as far as I can see there is no USB storage settings etc.

If anyone can help it would be most appreciated.

Answer
Yes, that fails for most of us. What do I do next?

I find myself putting the SD Card into my PC and copying over images the old fashioned way.

As I don't see what both PCs are I can't guess why one works and the other doesn't but the old fashioned way seems to always work.

I forgot to mention something and my mistake about assuming you installed the Kodak software. On my old Kodak I need to install that to gain access to the camera over USB but I didn't like that software and turned back to tried and true pull the card.

I see it fail all the time. Few clients pay to fix it but will spend 2.50 for a card reader.
