Unable to delete certain albums/songs Creative Zen X-fi menu

Jul 16, 2009 1:25AM PDT

I am trying to delete an album called Gold [Disc 2] from my Creative Zen X-Fi. When I go to it and right click and select 'Delete Album' it says are you sure and then I select Yes. It deletes it from the list. Then when I play another album/song and then go back to the list it reappears. I looked in the Music folder on the player through Windows Explorer and don't see it listed in there so I can't remove it from there.

Also there is a song that I have delete but it still shows on the player when I play the song. Instead of listing the title of the song it has that 'Select music from library... _ _ _' message. It's like it still plays/recognizes the song even though it is not there.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the album and the song that is not there?

Use a better file browser.

Explorer has its quirks.

Try Gyula's Navigator (google bing that.)

The alternative is not so pretty. (format, call Creative)

I'll Gyula's Navigator. It sounds like a better more detailed version of Windows Explorer?

Thanks

Shows files, directories and nothing else?

Also does not hide things.

Works on MSC MP3 Players.

Not for MTP mode players.

Sorry but you can bing or google what that is.

Couldn't get AAC (m4a) files to work on my X-Fi using Exploder or Gyula to drag-n-drop. I also remember having problems deleting those same files as well once they were on the player. Based on a response to a post I did on Creative's own forum, I ultimately switched to MediaMonkey to manage the X-Fi and haven't looked back. But before that happened, I found that I had no choice but to restart clean with the player via a reset.
