and let Windows assign those IP's?
Many will not create a user for the remote PC's, in order for a host PC to allow it's file sharing.
i'm using Windows 2000 Pro on all PCs on my network. it is TCP/IP network n each pc has unique IP address. few days before a problem started coming n it is still there. the problem is that other PCs are able to connect with my pc like \\10.40.30.228\c$ as my pc has IP address of 10.40.30.228 while i'm unable to connect with other pcs on my network from my pc like my neighbours ip address is 10.40.30.227 when i try to connect \\10.40.30.227 it is "account is not authorized to connect this computer" while every setting is same as was before. hardware is also same of both pcs and an Intel Switch n few days before i was able to connect but not now. please help me in this matter.
