by sanjered / June 15, 2009 11:42 PM PDT

Hi
I bought samsung lcd tv model:LA22A450C1 recently.
I want to connect my laptop with tv.
But I am unable to connect my dell (model:1330, OS: vista) laptop.
I tried all the solutions, which is given in internet.
But my TV is not recognizing my laptop.
When i click source button in remote, 'PC' is not appearing.
In 'AV' mode i am getting 'No signal' message.
Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

I have Dell laptop with HDMI out. I have to hit the FN+F8 key to get it to display on the LCD TV. Check with your laptop's manufacturer if it has a special key sequence to enable the HDMI out.

sanjered,

Have you updated your drivers and BIOS from the Dell Website?

I haven't updated drivers. I have taken my laptop six months only. Is it necessary to update BIOS drivers? If yes i will update.
Thanks

sanjered,

It's a suggestion that in some cases fixes the problem.

If not, we can try a few other things.

So now we have to see ...

if it's the laptop that is at fault or the TV. That doesn't necessarily mean it's broken, it might just as well be some settings.

The only way to be sure:
- Find another laptop and connect that to your TV. It should be a laptop that shows on other TV's.
- Find another TV and connect your laptop to that. It should be a TV that shows other laptops.

For the moment my assumption is that the TV is OK, but that you don't know the details of operating your laptop to get this done. Check the documentation.
If that's true, this is the wrong forum for your problem. But the test above will show it.

Resolution and output

In reply to: RE

There are two other things I might check.

1. That your computer is using a supported resolution.
2. Most Dell computers have a FN+F8 key to toggle external monitor output. Try pressing that twice and see if anything happens. There's also an F7 key, but try that afterwards.

Purchase compatible VGA cable to ur samsung LCD depending upon the inches of LCD

first configure the screen of the computer

E.G
32 inches LCD - screen resolution required (check samsung lcd manual)
1368 X 768

Set resolution of computer to around 1280 X 768 in ur laptop

Then plug in vga in LCD

Connect restart n Enjoy!!!!!!!

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
