Unable to boot

Feb 29, 2004 4:17AM PST

Here's the situation, recently I tried to upgrade my brothers old computer's memory with a stick of PC-133 SDRAM that I had laying around. He has a Compaq Presario 7596 running Windows 98.
After installing the ram the computer would not boot. Ok I figure, the ram must not be compatiable so I simply take it out. No big deal right? Well after I take the ram out it still will not boot(It was working fine before). The power light comes on but thats it, no screen messages (it goes into sleep mode) and no beeps. Any ideas whats causing this and how to correct it? Thanks.

Try reseating the original ram.
