You can find example after example where that many years and it's OOW (out of warranty.) No TV maker is offering 4 or more year warranties. It's a sure sign that these are not made to last a decade.
-> There are some known issues that makers do cover such as that model that escaped with an uncut jumper but that's the exception to the story.
If you find a maker that will deliver on a 10 year set, let us know.

I'm very disappointed in Samsung! I bought the flagship 8000 series model in the middle of 2011 (right when it came out) and I'm starting to have the screen issues just like every one else who bought the TV. When the TV powers on it has a line through the screen and on top of it it is discolored and has a ghosting effect and will have that for about 15-20 minutes. Then sometimes after that it just appears until I turn off and on the TV (which works 40% of the time).
I've called Samsung and just got off the phone from the executive team who told me that I have no options. I understand that it's been 4 years but I've bought the flagship model and I cant believe that Samsung wont stand behind their product and offer a one time repair! I'm very disappointed and don't know what else to do!
Any ideas? Also I don't think that after all of this I would buy Samsung again. Why buy a product that the manufacturer wont stand behind?
