Question

UN50EH5000 Samsung led tv picture issues

Sep 1, 2015 8:14AM PDT

I plugged an external hard drive, into my USB port, on my tv, it took a little while to "install" freezing my tv each time it did so.. Since the first use of the hard drive my picture has been really shaky, and it's as if the very top of my screen is being shown on the bottom, and there is a constant line across the top and bottom of the screen.. My question is, can this be fixed with a software update or is my picture shot?

Clarification Request
Did you try all resets noted in the manual?

After that, ask Samsung to check out if there is a new firmware version. After that, reset again and if the issue remains (no HDD during all this!) then it needs repair.

I'm sorry to hear this! First you would want to check to make sure the firmware is completely up to date. Once the firmware is up to date test it out again. Also make sure the aspect ratio is set to 16:9. If this doesn't work as stated above, just reset the television. If it continues at that point the unit may require service. Here’s the thread where you can get details on setting that up: http://forums.cnet.com/7723-13973_102-542437/service-issues-click-here-for-help/
