Resolved Question

UN46D6000 smart hub not working correctly

Sep 13, 2011 4:48AM PDT

New Tv out of box was okay. After installing wireless network adaptor I have only half of the screen application icons on the smart hub menu showing only 8 icons for basic local network and channels and favorites. The top part of screen shows current viewed program channel. No access to internet browser or Samsing applications. 30 minute on-line chat with Samsung could not solve problem.Local network is found okay. location of TV is in Bermuda I understand some apps might not work from this area, but should still be able to surf the web.
can anybody help please?

Thanks for responding.
The issue as reported has some how resolved itself. I came home switched on and the full menu on smart hub was there and asking me to proceed with smart hub upgrade. I now see all the samsung apps. screen and netflix, hulu etc. that were missing before. The problem might have been on a firewall setting in my netgear router.I have now been able to download some of the free apps. from Samsung.
Could you tell me if there will be an available upgrade to the 6000 model in the future that will include the internet browser feature.
Thanks again golfprince.

thanks again.
It sometimes makes you wonder when is the best time to buy, If you wait you can buy a better a model at a cheaper price, but at some point you have to decide to go for it. Thats technology in action I guess.

I am having this problem, I live in the Bahamas. I cannot access the Samsung Apps and have the same problems that you listed in your original post. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I understand about individual apps - I am specifically talking about Samsung Apps. Seems like people in other jurisdictions can at least can access Samsung Apps.

Was purchased in the US. I only get the generic 8 apps or so - no option at all for Samsun Apps, and the Account Management tab is grayed out so I cant access it. I am wondering if I need a US VPN.

Did you change your firewall setting on your router that made it work?
