UN46C6400 - Netflix Widget Problems

Sep 7, 2010 1:44PM PDT

I just bought and setup UN46C6400 ; All the features and internet widgets work as expected except NETFLIX ; when I click on the netflix app an icon comes up as connecting and stays there.

I have upgraded the firmware to the latest version.
I can use picassa web application so my internet connection is not a problem.

Netflix streaming ability is one of the reasons I bought the TV ; can you provide any suggestions to fix the issue.

Samsung Quality Problems
Oct 3, 2010 2:44AM PDT

I have the same problem with two Samsung LCD TVs I recently purchased. I called samsung several times and they are aware of this problem but apparently are in no rush to fix this. I feel like returning the tvs is the only solution.

Hey guys I just bought A 6500 as well and had the same problem ... After hours of research I found out that you have to reset the tv's settings for the netflix widget to work... Make sure you already have a network connection first .. Then all you have to do is hold down exit button till you get a pop up on the screen asking you to reset settings.. Make sure you write down ur current settings as you will lose them once your done with the reset process...Trust me guys ..once I did this I hit the netflix widget ,setup my account and Wala!!! ... Happy!!!

Resetting via the EXIT button did NOT work for me. I logged this issue with Samsung supportthis evening. I was told by their Level2 support folks that a firmware update was scheduled to go out this past weekend (11/6/10), but didn't for some unknown reason. This is really bothersome. If this is due to some licensing issues of something, then they should refund. I like the TV, but will return it if this issue isn't sorted out in a couple weeks.

UPDATE: Netflix Widget and Samsung UN46C6400
Nov 9, 2010 10:19AM PST

Issue solved, no help to call-in support. Believe it or not, online chat support rocked though. Simply download the latest firmware from Samsung's website, and upgrade the TV via USB. Netflix works like a gem now, but will only show you the "Play Instant" movies you have in your queue.
