UN46b7100 power cord

Can anyone tell me why in the world Samsung would hardwire the power cord to the TV? This makes feeding the cord through an IKEA panel mount much more difficult than it should be. Grrr ...

It creates a slimmer design without a bulky cord knot at the rear of the television.
