The way you tell it (but we don't know if perhaps you forget to tell something relevant) the uninstall of 2007 shouldn't have uninstalled 2003, and there's nothing you could have done about it.
However, are you sure you didn't tell the install program of Office 2007 to delete the previous versions (that could be the default and if you click Next too fast, it's gone) and didn't notice it? That would be a good explanation.
But you didn't lose your data, so it's only a minor inconvenience. I'd say. Things could have been much worse.
By the way, no need for panic if you have a good backup strategy. Could it be you don't have such? Time to start thinking about it then.

I recently installed, then un-installed the Office 2007 trail. When I wnet back, my Outlook (Small Business) was gone as well. After a few hours of panic, I was able to re-install my Outlook bac and all my contacts were still on my computer.
Does anyone know why it would un-install Outlook? Is there something I should have done to prevent this.
Thanks!
