Nov 2, 2005 10:47AM PST

I'm looking for an ultra-compact digital camera (at least 3 mega-pixel) for less than $150. Does anyone know of any good deals now or expected before christmas. Thanx for the halp.

Kodak has been lowering the price on many of its' cameras. Check around the internet and buyer beware.

How about the Canon A510? I am not sure whether its compact or ultra compact, but its rather small and you should be able to fit it in your budget.
I have such a camera and I am very pleased with it.

If its any help for you, here is a list of several ultra-compacts under $150, ranked by the expert reviews they received.

Anyway, dont forget that after you buy the camera you will probably want additional equipment, like batteries, recharger, tripod maybe, bigger memory card and the such, so take it into account.

Compact for under $150

Ultra Compacts do not sell for under $150 (or for under $200).

The rule of thumb is: the smaller the camera, the higher the price.

However....Canon just released a new compact camera for the Christmas buyers.
It is getting good reviews for a camera in that price range.

Look for the Canon A410.
I was looking at one in WalMart just yesterday.
Looks like a good value.
It sells for under $150.
