There is no 1GB WiFi today. Read http://www.cnet.com/news/how-we-boosted-the-wi-fi-in-the-cnet-smart-home/ to see how they covered the CNET House.
Hi there,
What are your views on the best available wireless router for a home entertainment setup? I'm about to upgrade to 1gb broadband, so want to make sure I have the best possible set up.
Currently i'm using an airport express, which is connected to my B&W speakers (via the audio jack) and to my PS4 (via ethernet).
I'm finding that streaming to my PS4 (via Universal Media Server) is slow and sometimes the larger movies lag quite a bit.
Things that are important to me:
1) Connecting the speakers to my wireless network and using the airplay from my phones
2) Super fast wireless router to make the most of our 1gb internet. I find the signal on the Airport express is really bad and doesn't reach a room which is <10 metres away
3) Ability to connect the router to a VPN server (so i can my UK subscriptions from in HK)
4) Wirelessly streaming movies to my TV from Macbook Air, either via the PS4 or if you have a better solution i'd love to hear it.
Thanks so much in advance for any advice !
I'm willing to invest in a fast router. I guess by budget is around US$300-400
