Ulead movie Factory 5

by Paypalsucks / November 16, 2006 9:33 AM PST

Hi,

I videotaped a talent show on 7 mini-dvd i used dvd shrink to get all the mini-dvds on my computer and then i used Ulead Movice factory 5 to get all the little dvd-r on one double layer 8.5gb dvd and author a dvd that could play in people's home dvd player.

The issue is that some work but a lot end up not working with the dvd not wanting to load in some living room's dvd player. I was wondering what could be the issue. Some people have been calling back saying that their dvd copy won't load. Could it be the speed at which i burn them ? I am going to try to burn them at the lowest speed like 1x or something. I am loosing money because dual layer dvd are not cheap about 6$ each.

Compatibility issues...

The problem is almost definitely your media of choice. Not all home DVD players can handle both DVD+R and DVD-R formats and even fewer support DL media. In short, it's not possible to burn a DVD and expect it to work on all DVD players...you must check with each person to find out what player they have, then research what media it can handle and burn a compatible disc. It may take more time and effort than you want to invest, but it's the only way to ensure that your work will not go for not.

Stop the pain.

DVD+R, DVD-R and in fact any recorded DVD media does not play on all recorders. Period. Fact. Accept it. Widely discussed.

And torks those that discover this truth.

Stop the pain and your losses now. Don't make new DVDs if the one that didn't in the users player plays on yours.

I will NOT tell you to try this or that. I want you to save your bucks and stop the pain now.

-> What works better? Hand out single layer DVD+R and a single layer DVD-R and tell them to try one or the other. Not all players play recorded media. There is no sure fire fix except to replace the player.

I'd quite serious about this and hope that you learn this issue quickly.

Bob
